I am a fifty-nine-year-old mother of six adult children. I spent thirty-five+ years cooking for my husband and children. After all those years cooking had become a chore. I didn’t even enjoy eating out anymore. Then two years ago my daughter challenged me to run a 5K with her. So, I decided that if I was going to run, I needed to get healthy and lose weight. By changing my diet and re-training myself on what foods were good for me I have lost over one hundred pounds. I have learned that cooking and preparing meals can be fun and exciting again. I have also found a passion for finding new and different foods and cooking methods. Restaurants and eating out sparks my imagination and challenge me to try new things. Food has become fun again and I enjoy sharing that with others.
